Cisco Selects France for Global AI Hub: Investing in Infrastructure, Skills, and Startups!

As the AI revolution gains momentum worldwide, France is strengthening its position as one of Europes key hubs for artificial intelligence innovation. On May 19, 2025, at the prestigious Choose France Summit in Paris, tech giant Cisco announced a new wave of strategic initiatives in the country. These Ciscos AI Initiatives in France include the establishment of a Global AI Hub in Paris, a large-scale digital skills development program, and enhanced support for the local startup ecosystem. This move underscores Ciscos long-term commitment to the French market (where the company has operated for 36 years) and its confidence in the countrys potential to become an AI leader.

Global AI Hub in Paris: Focus on Energy Efficiency and Innovation. Ciscos new Global AI Hub in Paris is set to become a center for advanced development in secure and, crucially in todays reality, energy-efficient AI infrastructure. One of the hubs key focus areas will be the creation of a global center of expertise for innovative data center cooling solutions. Given the exponential growth in the energy consumption of AI systems, developing "green" and efficient cooling methods for data centers is becoming a critical task for the entire industry. Cisco intends to concentrate its efforts in Paris on creating such breakthrough technologies.

AI Skills Development: Training for the Future. Understanding that technological progress is impossible without a skilled workforce, Cisco also announced an ambitious program to develop digital and AI skills in France. The company plans to train 230,000 people over the next three years, providing them with the necessary knowledge and competencies to work in a rapidly changing world where AI is becoming an integral part of many professions. This initiative aligns with Frances national "France 2030" strategy, aimed at technological development and economic resilience.

Support for AI Startups: Investing in Innovation. The third important pillar of Ciscos AI Initiatives in France will be increased support for the countrys innovative startup ecosystem. Cisco plans to strengthen partnerships with French startups specializing in AI, quantum computing, and next-generation infrastructure solutions. These efforts will leverage Ciscos existing $1 billion global AI investment fund, which has previously invested in the well-known French AI developer Mistral AI.

Commenting on these announcements, Chuck Robbins, Chair & CEO of Cisco, stated: "The AI revolution is reshaping the world, and were proud to deepen our 36-year partnership with France as it continues towards global AI leadership. With top talent, strong infrastructure, and a vibrant ecosystem, France is well-positioned to lead the way, and Ciscos investments in AI and skills across Europe will help unlock the continents full potential." These Cisco initiatives not only contribute to AI development in France but also strengthen the companys position as a key player in the global AI race, betting on innovation, sustainable development, and preparing the workforce for the future.
